Paid Ministry Opportunities

Camp Lemieux is a Catholic summer camp located 52 km southwest of Swift Current, SK in Lac Pelletier Regional Park. Camp Lemieux seeks to nurture the faith of youth through experiencing life in a Christian community, participation in the sacraments, and having new experiences in an outdoor setting. Our program has a balance of fun, fellowship, recreation, and solid Catholic teachings. Camp Lemieux community is challenged to worship and love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and strength through the gifts of the Holy Spirit as Christ has taught us.

Counselors:

The Team may consist of Sr. Counselors, Counselors, Head Lifeguard, Lifeguards, and First-Aid with responsibilities in the following key areas:

• being an awesome role model for young people
• must enjoy ministering to youth
• are active in your faith life within the Catholic Church
• adhering to all Camp Lemieux policies and procedures
• are at least 16 years old by the end of June
• Room and Board are provided from end of June into August
• NLS, First Aid, CPR and other certificates will be considered an asset

Caretaker:

The successful applicant will have good organizational skills, work well under pressure, and
have experience with electrical, plumbing, and sewage systems.The Caretaker is responsible for the following key areas:

• Opening the camp in May including start-up plumbing and water wells, test sewage systems, open all buildings
• During low season (May-June and Sept) the caretaker will act as host and caretaker for rental groups ensuring facilities are clean and ready. 
• During high season (End of June and into August) the Caretaker will ensure facilities are maintained, including washroom facilities, grass mowing, weekly garbage disposal and general upkeep with duties as required.
• This position answers directly to the Maintenance Board Member (May and June) and the Camp Director (End of June to August). 
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A Vulnerable Sector Check is required. 
• WHMIS, OHS Training, First aid and CPR will be considered an asset.

Kitchen Cook And Coordinator:

The qualified candidate will possess a valid food safe certificate, experience cooking for large groups and organizing volunteers and staff to assist as they become available.
This position is for a minimum of 7 weeks Starting the end of June 2019.

The Kitchen Cook & Coordinator is responsible for the following key areas:

• Overseeing the organization of kitchen volunteers along with our Camp Director
• Menu planning and budgeting for each camper week to feed 60-110 individuals per week.
• Ordering food & grocery shopping
• Preparation and partial clean up of all meals. Our meal dishes are cleaned by Campers and Staff in the main hall and the pots, pans knives etc are cleaned in the Kitchen.
• Room and Board are provided from end of June through to mid August
• Work hours vary each day. When a camper week is in session, you will be required from Sunday 1 PM - Approximately Friday 7:00 PM each week with the exception of our Kidz Camp where you will required on that Saturday and Sunday. Outside of our Kidz camp, all Saturdays are considered the cooks prep/rest day.
